How to Apply?

Applying for our loan service is simple and quick:

Fill Out the Online Application: Provide basic details about your study program and financial needs. Click here
Submit Required Documents: You will be asked to upload the following document:
- A PDF of your passport data page
- A PDF of the visa page of your passport
- Your admission letter
- Your student agreement or scholarship contract (signed by both parties)
- Confirmation of award letter
Guarantor Details: Provide the contact details, and Linkedin profile of a guarantor. Your guarantor has to be an ex-ERASMUS recipient or current recipient already in their first or second year. Your guarantor must be available for a meeting. The guarantor cannot be a current awardee
Get Approved: Once approved, funds will be paid directly to the vendor, i.e, the landlord, or airline. We advise that accommodation should be managed by organizations or associations rather than private individuals. Dealing with private individuals takes longer time before the payment is processed, as due diligence must be taken. For settlement allowance, once you have a bank account operated by Fintechs' the settlement allowance would be sent to it. If you prefer a proxy, they must be available for a meeting before fund are discharged. Fintech organizations such as Revolut, N26, Zen, and Wise (Formerly TransferWise) are easier to open compared to traditional banks that takes long processing time.

Loan Guidelines and Instructions

EU StudyAssist provides short-term financial support to international students preparing to begin or continue their studies abroad. To ensure fairness, transparency, and responsible lending, all applicants are required to follow the guidelines below:

Loan Service Packages (LSP) and Limits: We currently provide support for three categories:

Flight LSP: Up to €2,000 (for airfare only)
Accommodation LSP: Up to €1,500 maximum (for initial housing expenses)
Settlement LSP: 350 maximum (for living costs upon arrival)

Application Rules:

Apply early, and communicate with the team if you have any questions.
First timers may submit only one loan application per support season (June 1 to October 31 of each year).
Applicants who are approved must fully repay their loan before becoming eligible for any future loan.
Applying for flight? Get the flight details ready prior application for fast approval.
Applications must clearly reflect the specific loan service package and purpose.
Requests must match the declared purpose (e.g., Flight LSP cannot include settlement expenses)
Applications that attempt to exceed or combine LSPs outside the approved categories will not be considered

Appeals: If your application is rejected, you may submit one appeal during the same support season.

Appeals must be based on clarifications or corrections to the original application.
Additional new applications after a decision and appeal will not be accepted.

Eligibility:

Must be admitted for study to a country in Europe
Must provide proof of admissions and, where necessary travel tickets (Flight LSP) or accommodation (Accommodation LSP) documentation.
Must demonstrate ability to repay within the loan term (scholarship / assistantship)

Misrepresentation:

Any attempt to provide false information, request amounts beyond the permitted limits, or apply under multiple categories in the same season may result in immediate rejection.
Repeated violations may affect eligibility for future loans.

Interview Guide: As part of the loan application process, EU StudyAssist will conduct a short interview to confirm details, evaluate candidate and assess repayment ability. Applicant should:

Be Transparent: Provide honest answers about your loan purpose, repayment plan, and financial support.
Know Your Loan: Be clear on which Loan Service Package (Flight, Accommodation, or Settlement) you are applying for.
Repayment Plan: Be ready to discuss how you intend to repay within the given term.
Professionalism & Respect: Attend the interview on time, communicate clearly, and show courtesy to staff. At EU StudyAssist, we value respect and professionalism. Applicants and guarantors are expected to engage politely and attentively during all interactions. Any aggressive, rude, or dismissive behavior may result in the application being declined.
No Abuse Policy: Aggressive, rude, or disrespectful behavior will result in immediate rejection.

Calculated using the equated monthly installment method. All the amount to be paid are summed up and divided equally based on the loan duration.

Important Notes

There's a service fee of €25 added at the first payment under any plan. Interest is always calculated on the current outstanding principal. There's a trade-off between number of repayments and total amount paid.
